FLOOD UPDATES

-Gordon County schools closed Wednesday; road updates> Gordon

-5.33 inches of rain fell in Rome between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday.

-Tornado watch ends two hours early.

-A flood warning remains in effect for much of Northwest Georgia through 8:30 a.m. Wednesday as more storms move in. Numerous roads around Floyd County are closed at this time.

-The Oostanula was at 23.98 feet with a crest of 24.2 feet--just below flood stage of 25 feet--around midnight.

-The Etowah River was at 29.78 feet at the Bypass; flood stage is 32 feet

-249-unit Foster Glen development proposed near Calhoun: The project from Calhoun Georgia Developers LLC is set to rise east of the I-75/Ga. 53 interchange near Foster Lusk road (map). A development of regional impact report has been filed but it contains few details other than the size of the project and links to the ownership. Click DRI

-No changes at Prime Outlets in Calhoun: Prime Outlets continues to do well and no changes are pending in light of separate ownership issues with another Prime affiliate, Mount Berry Square. The mall is being operated by a receiver.

-Heritage Nissan moves used cars to new campus: Heritage Nissan has completed the move to new quarters on the Bypass. The remaining used cars at John Davenport Drive and Martha Berry have been moved to the new complex.

-More changes at Prickly Pear on Broad: Keep an eye on what's next for the restaurant site at 333 Broad St.

-Jan. 25/Independent School Fair set: Representatives from Berry Elementary and Middle schools, Darlington School, St. Mary's Catholic School and Unity Christian School will be available to provide visitors with detailed information about their programs, curriculum and extracurricular activities from 1 to 4 p.m. at Rome Civic Center.
