-Flood Warning: Extended until 8:30 a.m. Thursday for Northwest Georgia.

-Flood Watch: For Northwest, Northeast and North-Central Georgia until 1 p.m.

-Wind Advisory: From now until 7 p.m. with winds of 20-35 mph, gusts to 35 mph. Gusts of 23 mph at the airport already today.

Rain/flooding checks:

-Gordon County schools closed Wednesday; road updates> Gordon

-Rainfall in Rome: 5.74 inches between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 6 this morning.

-Rainfall in Cartersville: 4.01 inches between 6 a.m. Monday-6 this morning.

-The Oostanaula was at 25.5 feet, just above flood stage, at 8:45 a.m. Look for a crest at 26 feet around 1 this afternoon. (Turner McCall reading)

-The Oostanaula near Resaca was at 21.35 feet at 10 a.m. with a crest of 24.3 feet, above the 22-foot flood stage, at 1 a.m. Thursday.

-The Etowah River was at 28.45 feet at 10 a.m. and dropping. Flood stage is 32 feet.
