Voting begins in some counties in Senate runoff:  Gordon and Bartow voters can get a jump start on the Dec. 2 runoff elections by voting early, starting today. In Garodon, voters can stop by the elections office between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. The last day to vote early is Friday, Nov. 21. Advance voting is Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 24-26. The  runoff itself is Tuesday, Dec. 2, with precincts open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On the ballots: The U.S. Senate race between Saxby Chambliss and Jim Martin; the Public Service Commission contest between Bubba McDonald and Jim Powell; and a seat on the Court of Appeals featuring Sara Doyle and Mike Sheffield.

No Tour de Georgia in 2009: That's the report out of Savannah this morning as tour_de_georgia_logo.jpg organizers cite money problems in 2008 and the general economy in 2009. They hope to bring the six-year-old race back in 2010. Rome was a key player in the race during the first five years but last April, the trek stayed mostly on the eastern side of the state> Tour

New look, new deals for Prime Outlets Web site

With one of the biggest shopping days of the year just two weeks away, Prime Outlets in Calhoun has rolled out a new Web look (click). Most of the features from the former design remain but with more polish. Also, the "events" feature on the bottom right corner contains both ongoing and special events. The top of the list: the Midnight Madness Pajama Jam that starts one tick after Thanksgiving (12:01 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28). You can even sign up for mobile text alerts with details on extra savings.
