Three-Dot Buzz, midweek edition . . . :
Regional arts magazine brewing? An annual magazine on the arts--targeting $100,000-plus households in Floyd, Bartow, Gordon and Polk counties--is being discussed. A copy of a similar magazine in Alabama is the "protoype" for the publication. We hear a print order of 20,000 copies with 10,000 mailed and another 10,000 targeted for medical offices, retail spots, etc. . . .
Definitely 'getting it': Redmond Regional Medical Center and Floyd Medical Center have been recognized as among 518 hospitals "demonstrating commitment to quality care" for heart disease and stroke patients by earning a Get With The Guidelines Performance Achievement Award. Redmond and Floyd were cited in an ad placed in the annual "Best Hospitals" issue of U.S. News & World Report. To view the ad, click here . . .
Missed it by that much: The state's ramped up effort to get Georgians to vacation closer to home is a great idea, as are the potential prizes for doing just that. Make that Rome, Ga., international news center: The tale (tail?) of the six-legged deer found here following a dog attack has reached the hallowed newscenters of The Telegraph and Daily Mail, let alone most television stations (especially Fox affiliates). Check for the latest "pick-ups" of the Rome-datelined story by search Google News (type six-legged deer) . . .

And now, Fricks the Video: County Commissioner Garry Fricks' traffic problems are now on video, courtesy of the police camera in use at the of his arrest and secured by Real Fast News. The eight-plus-minute video starts with the officer's pulling Fricks' white truck over ,and continues with the license check and arrest.
