Media release: Corey Higginbotham of Silver Creek was the winner of Blood Assurance's trip giveaway. Higginbotham, who donates at the Rome office in Midtown Crossing, registered for the trip after giving blood in April.
In May, he was notified that his name was drawn to receive a $1,000 travel voucher. Higginbotham said he plans to take his teenage son to the beach.
Each month, Blood Assurance offers giveaways for visitors to any donor center or bloodmobile. Those who wish to donate blood must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with parental consent) and weigh at least 110 pounds. Up to three patients can benefit from one blood donation.
Blood Assurance's donors are the sole providers of blood donations for more than 50 hospitals and healthcare facilities, including Floyd Medical Center and Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome.
