Downtown Rome's Memorial Day weekend: Nearly 10,000 expected today for local high school graduations at The Forum. Mohawk to begin training for 500 new jobs. Beautiful, rain-free weekend for busy weekend events.

Downtown Rome's Memorial Day weekend

-Nearly 10,000 people will combine to attend three graduation ceremonies set for at The Forum today.

-Armuchee High goes first at 10 a.m. followed by Pepperell at 2:30 p.m. and Model at 7 p.m. Coosa graduated Friday.


Weekend events

-Rome Middle School's football teams annual Boston Butt sale is today from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. just off Hicks Drive in front of The Home Depot.

-Habitat for Humanity's Annual Boston Butt sale from 10 a.m. to noon at Central Plaza.

-May 25: Unity Christian School graduation at 10 a.m. at Taylor Farm.

-May 25: The Berry Farms Angus Beef will have a sale from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  at Lavender Mountain Hardware.

-May 25: Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority will open the Northside Swim Center for the season Memorial Day weekend. Schedule 

-May 25: Blood Assurance blood drive at Ayers Realty, 807 Shorter Ave., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
