Media release: The Tiger Flight Foundation Flight Team, based out of the Richard B. Russell Airport in Rome, will provide a day of flight for Summit Quest. Janice Hudson-Huff of Tiger Flight says that the morning flight event will honor the strength and hope of children affected with cancer and their families.

"Summit Quest is a nonprofit based group in Rome, Georgia," Huff said. "They provided strength, hope and service to children and families affected by cancer." According to Huff the volunteer pilots and crew members of Tiger Flight are eager to help Summit Quest. "The pilots will be flying about ten children and their parents Saturday morning. This is a very special group of people with fantastic families. We are all honored to be able to provide the opportunity of flight for them."

The Summit Quest Flight will be this Saturday morning Nov 17th. During the individual flights the children will be able to talk to the pilot and ask questions using in-flight headsets. "It's really a one on one opportunity for the child and the pilot," Huff said. "The Tiger Flight aircraft are Alon A-2 Aircoupes which are low-wing, twin tailed, monoplanes with only two seats. This allows the pilot to provide a very personalized experience to the passenger… as opposed to being flown with a group. The child is right up front seated next to the pilot and can take everything in."

Tiger Flight Foundation is a 501C3 non-profit foundation leading youth to the dream of flight and providing an opportunity for adults to serve through aviation activities. The Tiger Flight Foundation's mission is to inspire youth and adults to become "Pilots in Command" of their own lives. Major foundation components include the Children's Education and Motivational Program, the Tiger Flight Formation Flight Team and the Tiger Flight Museum.

The Tiger Flight Foundation and flight team are proudly associated with the original Flying Tigers and honored to be the only civilian flight team associated with this famed World War II squadron. In 2003 Tiger Flight was given permission to use the squadron patch of the Flying Tigers by the family of General Claire Chennault, the Commanding officer of the Flying Tigers, and General Robert Scott, Flying Tiger Pilot.
