RFPRA Wood Bat Classic Tournament Results

The Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority hosted the first Annual Fall Wood Bat Classic Baseball Tournament this past Saturday where fall league players were given the opportunity to show off their abilities and talents.

 

Over 100 baseball players participated in the tournament. Sports Coordinator Lee Morris, who planned the tournament stated, "We decided to add the Wood Bat Classic to this year's fall schedule to give players a chance to play competitive baseball using the traditional wood bat as utilized in the major leagues. Our town has such a strong baseball tradition, and this tournament is a unique event added to our baseball program."

 

Wood Bat Tournament Results:

6 & Under:  Wolves 26, Dragons 6

8 & Under: Red Sox 10, Indians 4

10 & Under: Summerville 8, Indians 4

 

The RFPRA will finish off the fall baseball season with a Single-Elimination Post Season tournament that starts today, October 29 and will run through November 3.
