"It is very rewarding to know that our event has been in Rome for ten years now. We have a very supportive community and that makes it possible to keep this event alive and continue to help those in need," says Jeri Jankovsky, Empty Bowls committee chair and ceramic artist.
Sponsors for the event include Chiaha, City of Rome, Darlington, Earthworks Pottery, Garner and Glover, Greater Rome Visitors and Convention Bureau, Harbin Clinic, Harvest Moon Cafe, Rome Area Council for the Arts, Rome Paper Company and Southeastern Mills.
Guests who bring a canned good for donation will be entered into a drawing to win a handmade ceramic centerpiece by Tesa Dupre. Chances will also be sold for $1. Commemorative 10th anniversary t-shirts will also be sold at the door for $15.
Donating potters include Gena Agnew, Sarah Baker, Gene Billian, Michah Cain, Janda Canalis, Jane Grey Collier, Tesa Dupre, Val Featherston, Donald Freking, Lisa Ingram, Jeri Jankovsky, Pam Jefferies, John Johnston, Jere Lykins, Terry Moon, Fran Myers, Jessica Turner, Julie Windler, Emma Vasil, Kim Vasil, Emily Willams, Earthworks students, Berry College students and Shorter College students.
