Night at the Movies sets fundraising record: $15,000 plus

Media release: When a community comes together to raise money for the prevention of child abuse, anything is possible.  The Exchange Club Family Resource Center was able to raise over $15,000- a new record- in February with its 12th Annual Night at the Movies.  Dr. Gary Smith, Rome Cinemas, provided the location and the entertainment when he hosted once again the Night at the Movies at the Rome Seven Theater on Shorter Avenue.  The Rome Hospitality Association treated the attendees to a fantastic array of delicious food.  And with the help of many generous corporate sponsors, the 12th Annual Night at the Movies was a tremendous success.  During the event, Dr. Gary Smith received the Katie Dempsey Star Volunteer Award.  "We couldn't do it without the generosity of this community," says NAM Chair, Meredith Brown.  "Times are hard, and that is why the Family Resource Center's work is needed more than ever," says Brown.
