May 5-6: Finster Fest returns to Summerville

Media release: SUMMERVILLE—The Paradise Garden Foundation announces that Finster Fest will be

taking place this year at Dowdy Park on May 5th and 6th. This year will

be the grand re-opening of Paradise Garden with visitors entering through what was Howard

Finster's Studio, now exhibited as a small museum. Finster Fest is one of North Georgia's

most popular Folk Art and Music Festivals. Finster Fest 2012 will be host to performing acts

such as Roger Allen Wade, Patterson Hood of the Drive by Truckers and many others. Finster

Fest 2012 will host Artist's from all over the nation. The two day festival will offer a shuttle

to Paradise Garden for special tours. Summerville Better Hometown Manager Sylvia-Lee

Keziah said, "Finster Fest being back in Downtown Summerville as it originally started will

allow visitors a chance to see not only Paradise Garden by shuttle but also our very active art

community. We have so much vibrancy and interest with local artists in our downtown right

now and this can be witnessed with a recent surge in new businesses that have opened."
