George Anderson seeks Rome commission seat. SPLOST fails, Rome OK's Sunday sales, big win for Newt, big night for Romney, Santorum. Kroger expansion begins. Sunny, mid-60s.

 
Super Tuesday aftermath:
-Rome's Sunday package sales begin April 1 after easy win among city voters Tuesday night.
-Powered by another backlash in county precincts, the 1-cent SPLOST extension fails. All six city precincts and Alto Park voted yes.
-Newt Gingrich gets almost 49% of the GOP vote; Mitt Romney second; Rick Santorum a close third. Ron Paul: fourth.
 
George Anderson wants vacant City Commission seat: Robert Kane also has completed paperwork to fill Duane Reid's former seat.
 
Kroger wasting no time in getting expansion rolling. 
 
70s due Thursday, more rain Friday.
