Seven streets and county roads in Chattooga County get a makeover

Media release: Construction work could soon begin on a state project to resurface various city streets and county roads in Chattooga County. Georgia DOT has just awarded a contract valued at close to a half million dollars, for resurfacing 7.460 miles on seven city streets and county roads in Chattooga County. The project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2012, at a construction cost of $448,896. 

 

The project includes the resurfacing of the following three county roads:

Mahan Road, beginning at State Route (SR) 48 and extending to Hair Lake Road

Sloppy Floyd Lake Road, beginning at SR 1 and extending to the end of pavement on Sloppy Floyd Lake Road

Sloppy Floyd Lake Road, beginning at Sloppy Floyd pavement joint and extending to Lick Skillet Road.

 

In the city of Summerville, this project includes the resurfacing of Hunter Street from Alexander Street to Dowdy Drive, and State Street from Selman Drive to 7th Street. The project also includes the resurfacing of 8th Avenue and North 5th Avenue in the city of Menlo.
