Media release: Area cancer survivors and their caregivers are invited to a victory celebration on Saturday, Jan. 21.
Lakeview Baptist Church, 80 Salem Drive NW in Rome, is playing host to the party to provide a time of fellowship and celebration for survivors.
The event will be a luncheon noon to 2 p.m. The featured speaker will be survivor Casie Payne.
Donations will be accepted for the meal with proceeds going to Cancer Navigators, a Rome-based nonprofit that helps cancer patients on their journey through treatment and beyond.
The celebratory benefit luncheon idea was born out of the RACE - Rome Area Cancer Encouragement – support group that provides wellness and educational information to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers on their journey.
