Rome, GA; Redmond Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the new Total Joint Center, opening this January, will be named in honor of Orthopaedic Physician, Dr. Sidney A. Bell. 

 

Retiring from 34 years at the Harbin Clinic in 2008, Dr. Bell is credited with leading the inception of the total joint replacement program at Redmond Regional in 1974. Modeling it after the very successful joint replacement program at programs at The University of Virginia and Harvard, Redmond’s program was a success from the beginning, completing the first year of procedures with zero infections and zero joint dislocations. Dr. Bell performed total joint replacements at Redmond until his retirement in 2008.
