Sen. Loudermilk will continue to chair the Science and Technology Committee and will continue to serve as vice chair of the Veterans Affairs Committee. He will also continue to serve on the Transportation and Economic Development Committees.
"I am very excited about my new position," Sen. Loudermilk said. "I pledge to ensure the Senate will act fairly as we oversee our industries that receive some sort of government control."
Sen. David Shafer, chairman of the Regulated Industries Committee, said he welcomes Sen. Loudermilk aboard.
"I am delighted that Sen. Loudermilk will be joining the Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee," said Sen. Shafer said. "He will be a tremendous asset."
"Sen. Loudermilk has proven to be an outstanding legislator," said Sen. Greg Goggans, who sits on the Committee on Assignments. "We felt that he would be a great addition to the Senate Regulated Industries Committee."
The 153rd Legislative Session of the Georgia General Assembly will convene Jan. 9 at the State Capitol.
