Possible buyer for mall, New owner for The Clotheshorse, July 4th Events

Could there already be a buyer for Mt. Berry Square Mall? Sources say there may already be an interested buyer before the property goes into a foreclosure auction at the Floyd County Courthouse on Tuesday, July 6. We are following up on these reports and will have more later today.

Downtown retailer, The Clotheshorse, has a new owner as Geri Cheeley purchased the boutique from  long-time owner, Evelyn Sims, and officially took over July 1.

Bank of the Ozarks, Inc. has announced its Board of Directors has approved its regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per common share payable July 23, 2010 to shareholders of record as of July 16, 2010.

Politics: Campaign Finance Reports are rolling in for the most recent reporting period ending June 30. Candidates have until July 8 to file reports.

-July 3: Fireworks, downtown Cave Spring, 9 p.m.

-July 3: Rome Braves' post-game fireworks. Rome vs. Grasshoppers, 7 p.m. Rome Braves.

-July 4: Salute to American, fireworks, Ridge Ferry Park. Gates open at 4 p.m. with food, pony rides, inflatables. 5 p.m.: Live music: Young Guns, Soylent Red, Southern Thunder, Jerry on the Moon and KneckDown. 8:20 p.m.: Tiger­Flight Demonstration; 9:15 p.m. fireworks show (Q102 simulcast); 9:55 p.m. Live music: KneckDown. 11 p.m. park closes. -July 4: The ninth annual patriotic extravaganza, "One Nation Under God," will be Sunday at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Cave Spring.  It is a community-wide event and everyone is invited.
