Heritage First outlines potential sale of Alabama banks to State Mutual:

-In a late Monday release, Heritage First Bancshares corrects what it calls "a number of misstatements" in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution story published Saturday about a possible sale to State Mutual Insurance. The potential sale involves the Alabama banks' subsidiary of Heritage First, not the Northwest Georgia-based institution. Click Heritage

July 24/Third Berry College Farmer's Market seeks vendors: Those interested in selling produce on the campus of Berry College are welcome to take part in the upcoming farmer's market. The vendor fee is $10, payable after set-up. Items allowed: Fresh or home-canned, locally-grown vegetables, fruits, cut flowers, jams, jellies, honey and home baked goods. Items not allowed: commercially grown produce, prepared hot food, yard sale items, live potted plants, herbs, seedlings, or transplants. Time: 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Clara Bowl. Vendors are welcome to arrive and begin setting up at 6 a.m. Tables are available but please provide your own tent if you need one.
