Sign's up: Steak n Shake 'coming up.' DLS Financial Center sign/billboard also on. Rome Braves win third straight.

'One brand new Steak n Shake coming up'

-Call it a sign of the times -- as in the countdown clock for Rome's Steak n Shake is finally ticking.

-A "coming up" sign for the prototype restaurant is finally up on the current site of Johnny Carino's on Turner McCall just over the ridge from Broad Street and downtown Rome.

-This iPhone photo was taken around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday with an almost-full moon in the background.

-Wayne Robinson and Brooke Temple hope to open the 3,200-square-foot restaurant by mid fall, a few months later than first planned.

'Rome's answer to Times Square'

Within several days, look for the color LED advertising to start on the DLS Financial Center sign at the corner of Turner McCall and Broad Street. Permits are in hand and at least two slots are filled, says   Ernie Smith, a partner in Dempsey Lord Smith. Crews were installing the sign on Tuesday and power should be on with a few more days. DLS is selling 10-second slots (appearing even two minutes) for $1,250 a month. Billed as the first or second most-busiest intersection in town, at least 52,000 cars pass on Turner McCall each weekday and 20,000 more on Broad. For more, contact Smith at 706-238-9575
