Gingrey war chest at $1.4 million for 2010 re-election bid: The latest reports from the Federal Election Commission show U.S. Rep. Phil Gingrey had $1,400,930 in the bank for his election bid. Gingrey reported contributions of just over $1 million for Jan. 1-March 31 with around $624,000 coming from individual donors and $347,000 from political action committees. So far, Gingrey has no declared opposition in the July primary or November general election> FEC

-Floyd County Democrats elect new vice chairs: Stacy Walker has been vice chairman for elections and Robin Fox, vice chairman for communications for the Floyd County Democratic Party. Planning continues for "A Day for Democrats" set for June 5th at the Rome Civic Center. Monthly meetings will continue at the Pullen Meeting Room, 10 W. First St. The meetings will be held the Saturday after the first Friday of each month.
