Johnny's a go on Broad; Riverside Gourmet still looking for new home: The lease for Johnny's New York Style Pizza is now "inked" for 233 Broad St. Crews were in the location--still home to Riverside Gourmet -- on Tuesday, sizing things up for a refit. Johnny's hopes to open in March so work will begin in January. Riverside Gourmet, which continues a 20 percent off sale, will be at that location through the first of the year with a new site yet to be selected.
Schroeder's Armuchee on the market? The ownership group behind the Armuchee Schroeder's New Deli is exploring a possible sale of the franchise. The store off U.S. 27 is profitable, they say, but doesn't fit with their expansion plans. The store opened in January 2004 and seats 102 people. The ownership group is Miller Mountain Foods, including Chad Whitefield, Wayne Robinson and Jason Watson.
A 'ghost' from Christmas past? WXYC 1270 AM is back with Christmas music--including comedy--through the holiday as talks continue with potential parties interested in leasing the Cartersville radio station. The station left the air Dec. 14. Updates via Facebook
