-First look at Game Time Sports Grille -- and what's that Cledus T. Judd sign? The formal opening is 11 a.m. Saturday ("just in time for the Georgia game") but Game Time Sports Grille in Cartersville staged a soft opening Thursday. The new sports center behind Slope's and next to Carmike 12 had a brisk crowd at 7 p.m. with the wall-to-wall televisions training on all the sports channels. Owner Mark Mathison says several special events are brewing including a "huge" Georgia vs. Florida gathering complete with Gator bites. Game Time is open 11 a.m.- midnight Monday-Wednesday; until 1 a.m. Thursday-Saturday and 11:30 a.m.- midnight Sundays.
-Also on the way--a venture with Cledus T. Judd? Most know Judd as an entertainer, radio host including a recent stint on The Bull and as growing up in the Cartersville area (Web site) Judd apparently has another project on the way in the same plaza as Game Time and Anytime Fitness. The banner announcing Cledus T includes few other words than "coming soon." Look for the "hick hop and honky tonk" just off Slopes Drive and Tennessee Street near U.S. 41.
